The Bombshells aren't afraid of learing new skills and we have been so lucky to have been given the opportunity to have a go at belly dancing, burlesque and line dancing so far, but August saw us attempting, and for the most part succeeding in learning the basics of Ceroc, a kind of modern jive.

So four beats to the bar and away we went.  Under James' and Tanya's expert tuition, with leaders  and followers in perfect synchronicity (well, mostly) we danced and twirled and giggled.

Ceroc turned out to be fun.  Lined up across the hall and ready in our pairs the question came, 'Have any of you danced Ceroc before?' and in answer, a single Bombshell knew what she was doing. For the rest of us, it was all new but our taster lesson was straightforward and we all enjoyed it hugely.

The steps, moves and techniques are taken from a wide variety of dances from around the world. While Ceroc is danced with a partner, there is no need to go as a couple or have a partner, as everyone dances with everyone else. We had so much fun at our WI meeting that already two of the Bombshells have attended the Ceroc beginners class held on Wednesday evenings at the Village Centre in Broadbridge Heath with more members intending to follow. Our thanks to James and Tanya for their time and energy.

Check out the gallery below to see how we got on and the video of James and Tanya showing us just how good you can get.

This is how the experts do it!

On the Glorious 12th August, the WI Federation held their annual quiz at Denman House.  Never ones to shirk a challenge, the Bombshells rose to the occasion and fielded three teams each consisting of three competitors. The nine of us  tackled the eight different subjects with gusto if not always with the correct answer.

Nevertheless, out of the 17 teams present, we finished 1st, 5th and 9th with the three champions each receiving a £10.00 John Lewis voucher. Congratulations to all.

Coffee morning this month was held at Tanhouse Farm at Newdigate.  It is a pretty and rural spot. Coffee and conversation flowed as it always does when the Bombshells get together. Thank you Lorena for organising it.

After a long break we are pleased to say that our cocktail queen, Mel is back to doing what she does best: organising our Cocktail Club meet ups. We love a get together over a cocktail of an evening in town.  This time, Mel chose the The Rock in East Street for our boozy, chatty very enjoyable evening. Cheers Mel, we're already looking forward to the next one!
