A talk by Sheila Willis

Our journey of women in the British Police Force starts in the 1960’s when Sheila was a police officer.  A huge difference of policing without radios, mobile phones , where communications are made by the red phone boxes and standing outside of designated houses that had a home phone.

We then travel back to the first world war where this journey of women officers really started.  Working through the years this is a presentation of interesting photographs, true events, plus a little musical quiz of television WPC’s as women officers in the past were called.

Handbags were in the official uniform and even umbrellas!  Can you imagine!

As usual all members are welcome but if you are not yet a member your first meeting is free, so come along and give us a try!
