Matt Phelps from The Knepp Estate will be joning us for a talk about the amazing things that he and his team have been doing to help nature in our local area.

Knepp is a pioneering rewilding project in West Sussex, now into its third decade after intensive farming ceased in the early 2000s. Since the landscape began to recover, driven by the impacts of free roaming cattle, pigs, ponies and deer, Knepp has seen an explosion of biodiversity, from Nightingales to Turtle Doves to Purple Emperor butterflies.

 

This talk will cover the history of the project, the transition from farming to rewilding, and some of the amazing wildlife that has bounced back as a result.
