We Bombshells love looking good but life can be hectic, and beauty routines can become scrappy or missed altogether. Wendy Bray absolutely understands this. She is the delightful representative of Oriflame, a company of Swedish origin that now trades in over 20 countries. Wendy joined us for our April meeting to talk us through the care of our skin, promoting a routine that is neither complicated nor too time consuming to fit with busy lifestyles.

Having found her willing victim, (thank you Kelly,) Wendy began the Novage Lift and Firm routine by wetting Kelly's face using cold water in order to close the pores, before gently cleansing with a lightly foaming cleanser. Using delicate upward stokes, (always upwards ladies, against gravity!) and targeting areas prone to loss of firmness and elasticity. Wendy showed us how to find our orbital bone in order to apply tiny amounts of eye cream and massage it gently in to the delicate skin around the eyes. The serum, she said was optional, but moisturising should never be. So finally, Wendy applied the light day cream containing SPF30 with UVA and UVB protection. Sunscreen is the one essential that over and over again, Wendy encouraged us to use. We all need good sun protection with a sunscreen containing both UVA and UVB - and her useful tip for remembering the difference is that UVA protects against ageing and UVB protects against burning.
We all then enjoyed a lighthearted game. Wendy distributed a dozen products at random amongst us that were to be passed from one to other according to a silly story that she read us full of 'lefts' and 'rights' which caused much giggling and confusion before leaving our happy winners clutching their prizes.

However none of us went home empty handed as Wendy then circulated with a basket of samples choosing something appropiate for each of us.
She then gave us a QR code to access Oriflame's wonderfully useful app that from a selfie can analyse the skin's texture, dryness and highlight any problem areas of the face before recommending the appropriate products. Regretfully, I have to announce that I am in line for the anti-aging product range!
A delightful evening drew to a close and we all left with our samples, prizes and catalogues packed full of perfumes, makeup, lovely products for the skin, teeth and hair to peruse. Note to self, see last pages of the catalogue and start getting feet ready for the summer .......
We were very pleased to welcome three visitors and a new member at this meeting, so please if you have thought about joining us but haven't done so yet do join us in May for gin tasting (see Next Meeting section of the website for more info) and don't forget your first meeting is free!
And the brochure closes with 'Feet up' a timely reminder that the warm weather is coming and it's time to spend a little effort on prepping our feet ready for sandals and flip-flops. Thank you Wendy. Thnak you Oriflame.
